Effective communications drives member adoption

ConAgra Foods is committed to providing its employees and their families with programs that have a positive impact on health and productivity. As part of this commitment, the ConAgra Foods Vice President of Compensation and Benefits, Charlie Salter, selected Best Doctors as a as a high-value addition to the Company’s health benefits program. But Salter knew they would need to raise awareness about the program for their employees to get value from this important resource.

Understanding that different employees are best reached in different ways, ConAgra Foods uses many channels in its communications. In addition to mail-to-home communications (some of which contain ConAgra Foods member testimonials), ConAgra Foods consistently post Best Doctors information to their company intranet and display posters in high-traffic areas. In addition to including Best Doctors information in their open enrollment materials, they also present Best Doctors in their on-site benefits enrollment meetings.

Through this multi-channel engagement approach, ConAgra Foods was able to drive awareness and surpass program goals. In fact, over the past year, 8% of cases had a change in diagnosis and 33% had a change in treatment.
